Is this safe?
What happens when you pay with ILV on GachaRoll, in plain words. Last updated October 25, 2026.
The short version
- You only ever approve the exact amount shown on the button: 0.1 ILV for a paid match, 1 ILV for a duel, the price of a rental or an event pass. Never more.
- Your ILV goes into a game contract, not to a person. The contract follows fixed rules: it pays winners, refunds leavers, and sends the house fee to GachaRoll. Nobody at GachaRoll can take your ILV out of it.
- It can't touch your Illuvials or anything else in your wallet. Renting an Illuvial never moves the NFT either.
- You can check all of it yourself. Every contract's code is public and verified, and every race can be re-checked on its verify page.
What you'll see in Passport
Paying for anything on GachaRoll takes two quick confirmations in your Immutable Passport wallet. Here's what they look like and what they mean (example: a 1 ILV duel):

This is the actual entry: your 1 ILV moves into the contract and holds your seat (or starts your rental, or buys your pass).
Passport shows the network fee too. It's paid in IMX and is usually a tiny fraction of a cent. The words come from Passport itself; GachaRoll can't change them, which is why we explain them here.
What an approval can't do
- It can't take more than the spend cap. A 1 ILV approval can never become 2 ILV.
- It can't move your Illuvials, your IMX or any other token.
- It can't be used by anyone but the one game contract it names.
- Each new payment asks again for exactly its own amount, and replaces any older approval to that contract.

House fees go to the GachaRoll house pot, which pays for running costs and funds future prize pools.
Getting your ILV back
- Paid matches and duels: leave the lobby before it fills (before your rival pays, in a duel) and your whole entry comes back.
- If a race is ever left unfinished (for example our server goes down), anyone can cancel it on the contract after a short timeout and every entry comes back (duel entries straight to your wallet; paid match entries with a Claim). This works even if GachaRoll disappeared.
- Events: if an event is cancelled, or its prize isn't funded in time, every pass is refunded automatically.
- Rentals: a rental can't be cancelled once it starts. If the owner sells or moves the Illuvial before it ends, the unused time is refunded to your wallet automatically, and you get a stand-in with the exact same traits and finish to play until your rental would have ended.
Is the race fair?
Before anyone pays, the server locks in a secret seed by publishing its fingerprint on the blockchain. The race result comes from that seed mixed with a blockchain block created after entries close, so nobody (GachaRoll included) can know or choose the result in advance. After the race the seed is revealed, and the Verify this race link re-runs the race in your browser so you can see it comes out the same.
Traits and tiers give an edge, never a guarantee.

Every contract is verified on the Immutable explorer, which means its code is public and proven to match what's running:
Cancel an approval yourself
You're always in control of your approvals. To see or cancel any approval your wallet has given (to GachaRoll or anyone else), connect it at Revoke.cash and choose Immutable zkEVM. Cancelling costs a tiny IMX network fee.
What GachaRoll will never do
- Ask for your password, recovery phrase or private key. Not in chat, not by email, not anywhere.
- Message you first to "help" with a payment or a refund.
- Ask you to approve anything outside gacharoll.io. If a Passport popup doesn't say GachaRoll.io Games and gacharoll.io, cancel it.
- Ask you to approve more than the price on the button.
